Star persona video feedback and learner response
3) Now reflect on your own work. How did your star persona mood board planning help clarify and develop your ideas? my moodboard helped with concept of the makeup idea as it consists of normal makeup skills but the twist to it was a horror theme so the way the mermaid horror makeup was done we do element of that out and combined everything.
4) Thinking technically, how could you improve your work for future videos? (E.g. filming, editing, sound etc.) one way i could improve my work is by showing less negative space so theres only one focus instead of multiple things in the background. i will need to use a blank background so the model or subject is in focus. also id need to change the lighting so it isnt behind the subject but infront as itll show the subject in a brighter light and detail.i need to learn how to place better effects during my video so i xan keep it interesting throughout the whole video and doesnt get boring or drags on. i need to take the video from different angles so theres a variety of shots. id need to find music which fits the speeding and genre of the video im making.
5) Thinking in terms of mise-en-scene, what were the aspects of CLAMPS you used effectively in your video? the make up was to a high standard and was easily identifiable of what it is as of genre and the effect it was meant to have upon the audience as it wasnt confusing. the idea produced by the artist was creative as theyve mixed 2 ideas of someone confident and glamours mixed with a scary marmaid idea.
6) What aspect of mise-en-scene (CLAMPS) could you have improved or done differently? i couldve changed the location to a better place where theres good lighting and a plain back ground so theres no space around the subject in focus. i would improve the camera angles as they were portrait not landscape meaning it wasnt good sizing when editing and when looking at as its more vertical then horizontal. another thing i couldve improved was by having the actor in a still position not eating as it was distracting and made some footage unprofessional.
7) What have you learned regarding the importance of mise-en-scene to character, narrative and star personas? from this ive learnt that all aspects from the mise en scene criteria play a part of a successful video is that the background cant be messy as it becomes a distract, if the make up doesnt suit the clothing of the model as it wont origin or flow meaning the makeup wont be as effective. along the makeup would be prefect it wouldnt stand out if theres bad lighting as it wouldnt show the glistening of the makeup.
8) Finally. thinking conceptually or creatively, how could you improve the content of your video work in future? (E.g. planning, creative concept, timing etc.) in the future ill plan out my shots and angles so itll be effective to the theme ive picked as it can show all aspects
