1) Watch episodes two and three of  Capital  and write a 50-word summary of each. Episode 2 - Arabella comes back to a house occupied by a nanny who is taking care of her two sons whilst her husband dwells on his 'small' cash out. Quentina is determined to plead her case to the judge and defends herself against accusations of her working and living in London illegally. The Kamals get visited by their mother. Armed police storm in the Kamals home and arrest the three sons. Episode 3 -  In this episode there is a police investigation that is going on against the We want what you have campaign and we find out that the brother of Shahid had started a blog about this and Shahid got caught up in this due to his IP address being used by Iqbal and accessing very dangerous sites. There are drastic changes between Roger and Arabella as he his fired from his job due to his accounts being hacked and fraud so they decide to move house. Episode 1 -  Scene 1: opening sequence 00:30

1) What positive points do the reviews pick out about  Capital ? Capital demostrates a lot of aspects of real diverse London life and the actors very well depict 'the loneliness of London life'. 2) What criticisms are made - either of the TV drama or the original novel? The characters were underdeveloped, with too much happening before we now the characters equilibrium enough to empathize with them. 3) How does the TV drama change the time period and location for the story in comparison to the original novel? They move location to suit the written characters more because of the gentrification of the original location.   4) In the Telegraph 'behind the scenes' article, what does the writer say about the London housing market? Housing prices are on the rise and currently show no sign of plateau or decrease. 5) What references can you find in these reviews and features to the idea Capital is a 'state-of-the-nation' drama? How does it capture modern-day London? All

1) What is serial television drama? Write your own definition. A serial TV drama has multiple episodes and seasons. 2) List five of the TV dramas discussed in the history of the genre on page 1 of the factsheet. How has the genre evolved over time?   - Doctor Who  - The Avengers 1961-1969 - Danger Man 1962-1968  - The Sweeney 1975-178 - Starksy and Hutch 1975-1979 - Hill Street Blues 1981-1987 - Dallas 1978-1991 and 2012-2014 - Viewing in black and white to colour  - TV dramas are shot on film and made like a film with the same high quality production values - changing the set narrative structure and delivering a resolution at the end of each episode to running a          story over several episodes before offering any closure  - focusing on an ensemble cast rather than just one protagonist 3) List the sub-genres of TV drama featured in the factsheet.
