posters

1)what do you think the film is about and what the storyline might be ?
2)what genre(s) do you think the film belongs to?
3)what do you think the target audience?

picture one: i think this film falls under a sci-fi genre as the buildings look unrealistic and if you look closely there is a flying car. in the 1980s there wasn't any flying cars resulting it to be an extraordinary type of film. the white light shining on the man on the top could mean hes the hero in the story and is going to protect people as hes holding a gun. whereas, there is a woman smoking in a dark background could show evilness and that shes stressing because she has a straight face showing no emotion. however, the size of the man holding the gun in the post could shows his dominance and importance that he has in the film in this film as he could be the main character. from this poster i think itll be suitable for ages 12+ as it could be a crime solving film as its set in the future and doesnt look violent or have dark colours.

picture two: from this poster i can gather that this film would be a comedy type horror. this is from the girl who looks possessed and the priest making a cross with his fingers showing lack of seriousness. from this i can gather that the possessed girl will do the evil stuff in a joke form as it could be remaking different types of films in one way to make a joke about abnormal activities. the title ' scary movie 2' contrasts with a comment on the top of the page 'absolutely hilarious' as its called scary movie people would think its terrifying whereas the comment makes the viewer want to watch it to see why a horror film would be a comedy. furthermore, one character is wearing a t shirt saying she loves dead people displaying it'll be a humorous film as people are scared of dead people and ghosts. also. in the black cat could show daunting behaviour as in some cultures they see black cats as a bad thing.i think this film would be for 15+ as it looks as if it has sexual scenes or funny sexual bits which wouldnt be allowed for younger viewers. also there could be a lot of inappropriate language.

picture three: from this poster ive notice that the man is standing alone which could display his loneliness or that hes isolated from everyone as the back ground is polluted which could mean the mans seen a change in life and wants to escape his own. it looks as if the man in the picture has given up on his home town as hes looking upon it as if hes thinking about his life. the black jacket should resemble that hes leaving because black could show death and that the dead people have leave earth whereas hes leaving his home. i think this film would be about a man losing something in his life and is going to leaving his home town to find something else in his life.

picture five: the title ' sin city' demonstrates that evilness and unlawfulness behaviour. the tittle ' sin city' displays that the people in the city have become accustomed to the bad and sinful lifestyle in the city. the red colour is usually known for love as in this city it represents anger, blood, pain and lack of love. the grey background shows the lack of morality as theres a male holding a gun which shows violent attitudes. this film would be targeted at ages 15+ as it seems to be a violent film which wouldnt be suitable for a younger viewer.i think this film would be about people finding a person who has commit a crime and going to hunt them down to find out about it and will take revenge upon whats happened. i gathered this from the dark background and the strong red writing which stands out showing anger and violence which could be based in the film.

picture six: the film poster of 'pirates of the Caribbean dead mans chest' looks as if its a thriller, action film as 2 of the characters are looking straight into the camera demonstrating seriousness.  whereas, one character doesnt look as serious but is holding a gun displaying a sense of danger and conflict. the dark colours in the poster show mystery and death.this film could be about a team trying to rescue and fond a  boat they had and trying to take down an evil person or people. the target audience for this film would be 12+ / pg as the pirate looks as if hes funny and will do silly stuff where as other will be on point with things. the faded boat could emphases that its something important and that its going away as its slyly fading.

picture seven: from this poster ' bride and prejudice' i can gather that its a romcom and is suitable for viewers above 12+ or pg as it seems to be a family type of film.  the poster shows people celebrating which displays happiness and that something exciting has happened. this film could be a contrast of 2 lifestyles as one half has a modern lifestyle and the other has a traditional type one. this could demonstrate the clash on the families and by the name of the film i can identify that the traditional family isnt too keen on the other as of the up to date lifestyle.  also this film will display the love of a couple and that nothing will come in their ways to stop them from being there for eachother and how passionate their love is.

picture eight: 'million dollar baby' poster shows a female in the center of the poster which could mean shes the most important character and theres 2 people on each side of her as one looking aggressive and powerful and serious whereas the one on the right looks as if hes her manager and wants to protect her. the dark poster could display death as dark colours resemble negativity. the title of the film shows that this woman is very important as shes being related to million dollars which is something valuable and expensive.  this film could be about this woman needing protecting as someone is out to get her and stop her from getting where she needs to be in life. the way her back is turned shows that she could be hiding her real self and emotions from everyone as of the situation she is in and noone knows the real her. this film would be targeted at ages 15+ or 12A as it looks like an action crime film which could have a lot of violent which is gathered from the mood set by the poster as it portrays to be mysterious.
